GEFO orders second 7700 DWT Chemical tanker

By Delta Marine , ,

German shipping company, GEFO, has placed an order for a new 7700 DWT chemical tanker series to be built at the ICDAS shipyard. The vessel will be classed by ClassNK and is scheduled to be delivered in 2021. The vessel is to be capable to carry a large range of liquid IMO II type cargoes (acc. to IBC Code), oil products and most aggresive liquid cargoes in stainless steel cargo tanks. Delta Marine is tasked with upgrading its own proven design of the 2018-built, 7700 DWT Gioconda vessel to enhance it with greener features, including a new propulsion system powered by a dual-fuel engine burning, HFO, MGO and LNG. The vessel is to be designed in LNG-ready concept to carry LNG in cylindrical type C tanks. This is a significant challenge for Delta Marine, as the company aims to improve the environmental performance of the vessel while maintaining its high level of reliability and safety. The move towards greener technologies and fuels is an important step for the shipping industry as it seeks to reduce its impact on the environment. Delta Marine is committed to meeting this challenge and is dedicated to developing innovative solutions that will enable the industry to become more sustainable in the years ahead.
