4000 TEU Container Ship Design Contract

By Delta Marine , ,

Delta Marine is pleased to announce a new ship design contract for 2 x 4,000-TEU container ships with Sedef Shipyard, on behalf of the prestigious Turkish shipping company Turkon Line. As a whole design package provider, Delta Marine will provide design services for a project that will be built in Turkey, marking a momentous occasion after a very long time. These eco-friendly container ships are to be powered by a two-stroke, slow-speed, dual-fuel propulsion engine coupled with a single, high-performance CPP, making them ideal for carrying 20', 40', and 45' containers in a total of twelve (12) bays and five (5) cargo holds. The cargo area, consisting of five (5) container holds fitted with cell guides, hatch covers, and lashing bridges, will accommodate ten (10) container bays and double hull construction. The Vessel will be designed to ABS class rules with Ice IC standards. The propulsion engine, comprising one (1) unit of two-stroke, low-speed MGO and LNG burning (dual fuel) TIER III diesel engine, ensures that the Vessel is designed in an LNG-ready concept. This means that the Vessel is equipped with cylindrical, Type C tanks to carry LNG, which can be installed in the future in the E/R to supply the dual-fuel M/E and D/G's. Moreover, the design will enable the Owner to use various types of fuels, including HFO, MGO, VLSFO, ULSFO, and LNG. The Vessel will be fitted with scrubber and SCR units for M/E and D/G's. The main design objectives for this Vessel are to ensure low initial and operational costs, overall optimum fuel economy, and compliance with future environmental requirements. The efficiency and safety of cargo handling and operation with minimum manning are also top priorities. Delta Marine is proud to be a part of this innovative and eco-friendly project and looks forward to its expected completion in 2024.
